Eastern Avenue Pumping Station Renovations

SP Arch Inc. was hired by Whitman Requardt & Associates LLP (WRA) to work on the first and only museum of its kind. The unique structure is a combination of museum and functioning pumping station for the public water system of Baltimore City which services parts of Baltimore, Howard and Anne Arundel Counties. Our tasks included material selection, walking the scaffolding to inspect the restoration of the interior and exterior masonry, and the redesign of the museum entrance and the 15 ft high crane door repair. We were also responsible for directing and inspecting roof repairs such as patching and repairing the slate shingles and copper sheets and flashing. The Lexan glazing was removed from the copper frames and they were refitted with insulated glazing.
